Kairos Prison Ministry

Christ admonished us “I was in prison and you visited me.” Matthew 25:36

kairos symbolThe Kairos prison ministry answers God’s call to serve the incarcerated and their families and loved ones. This ministry is actively supported by our church through prayers, by providing dozens of cookies for Kairos weekends, and by some of our church members actively ministering to the incarcerated during Kairos weekends at prison units in Texas.

“Kairos” is Greek for God’s special time. As a worldwide ministryKairos through its three fundamental programs has over 36,000 volunteers donating 3 million hours of service each year... servicing 400 institutions through 55 ministry chapters in 32 states and 5 countries.

Kairos Slogan... “Changing Hearts, Transforming Lives, Impacting the World.”

Our support of this Kairos Inside ministry is through the Kairos of Texas chapter. More info on the Kairos Texas Chapter.

Our congregation provides the dozens of cookies the volunteers take with them for a Kairos Weekend. For many weekends, the Texas chapter ministry needs as many as 700 dozen cookies.

There are many other opportunities to serve in the ministry... all you need is a willing heart.

Volunteers from our church participate in the Kairos Inside program as part of the trained volunteer teams that visit prison units to minister to the inmates.

The teams are made up of well-organized and well-trained clergy and laypersons working with the chaplains at the prison units.

If you feel a desire and calling to participate as a volunteer in a Kairos team, email This email address is being protected from spambots.
