In times of trouble, distress, sickness or pain, YOU are not alone. Jesus Christ is with YOU and so is our Prayer Ministry.
The Prayer Ministry in our church is an active ministry involving Christian men and women praying for and with one another. Through our Prayer Chain Committee, Prayers Lifters group and Prayer Shawl ministry, we witness our belief in the power of prayer.
The Prayer Chain Ministry is a group of men and women who, upon receiving a prayer concern from a Prayer Chain Committee Member, begins to pray over that concern. Prayer concerns are submitted to the Prayer Chain Committee by:
Contacting the church office (903-482-5505) and asking to be connected with our pastor or a member of the Prayer Chain Committee;
Emailing a prayer concern to our pastor at
Providing your prayer concern using the Prayer Cards available in the worship service attendance folders, in the Narthex and in each of the adult Sunday school classes; and/or Requesting a pastoral call (these requests can be indicated on the Prayer Cards, in your email or when you call the church office (903-482-5505).
Prayer Lifters, another vital part of our Prayer Ministry, is a group of church members that meets with the Pastor every Wednesday at 6:30 P.M.
The group meets to lift our prayers for the concerns of the individuals on our Prayer Chain.
Prayer Lifters meet in the Saints and Sinners room on first floor in the Worship Center building.
These meetings are open and we welcome anyone who desires to join in and pray for others. For a very rewarding and spiritual experience, please join us!
When our Prayer Lifters gather at our church to lift prayers and thanksgivings to God, they are following Jesus' words in Matthew 21: 13, "My House will be called a House of Prayer."
The Prayer Shawl Ministry, under the guidance and leadership of our United Methodist Women, makes shawls for those who may need to feel the prayers during a difficult time... another way to show someone "you are not alone".
The men and women involved throughout all these aspects of our Prayer Ministry know the power of prayers and feel the call to pray for and with others.
