 Organizational Infomation

Great Days of Service is a cooperative service effort among churches, businesses, service organizations and community volunteers.

It is a non-profit service organization that was formed by the Van Alstyne Ministerial Alliance in 2gdos logo000. Dedicated to assisting neighbors physically or financially unable to provide needed home repairs or improvements. The event is usually held over a Friday and Saturday in September or October of each year. Service projects are within the boundaries of the Van Alstyne Independent School District.

gdos gOur church has actively supported this community service ministry every year since it was started in 2000... children, youth and adults. Projects range from yard cleanup to painting to roof repairs to building wheel chair ramps to fixing doors and lights and many more... typically 45 – 60 projects over two days. Volunteers from our church, partner churches and community organizations work side by side.

Some projects require particular skills, like carpentry or electrical. But, for the majority, handling a paint scrapper, brush or roller, a rake, shrub clippers or a broom are all that is required.
