At First United Methodist Church of Van Alstyne, Stewardship is a Way of Life.
Our members have many ways to give back to God through worship, service and gifts.
Prayers Through an active prayer life... individually and being a part of our Prayer Ministries.
Presence Through regular attendance at weekly worship.
Gifts Through committed financial support for the ministries and purposes of the church, and additionally our time and talents in Service.
Service Through shared service in the Missions and Outreach of our church.
Witness Through living a life that points to Christ as we serve our neighbors and share with others how God is at work in our lives.
Our financial support gifts provide support for the annual needs and purposes of the church, one-time capital campaigns to address the needs beyond the reach of annual funding, and bequests and planned gifts for longer-term purposes and needs well into the future.
Our annual gift commitments, as each member is able, are the foundation for operating our church and the service ministries aimed at doing what God wants us to do.
All gifts are welcome... financial, time and talents.
Our responsibility is to manage our possessions in ways that honor God and accomplish his will.
Every year we celebrate renewing our commitments at a celebration luncheon.
"All must give as they are able, according to the blessings given to them by the Lord your God."Deuteronomy 16:17
Through our Planned Giving stewardship, we demonstrate our belief in our heritage, our dreams and our future.
We provide church members and friends the opportunity for making planned gifts as lasting transformational memorials... leaving a lasting legacy that will be remembered beyond the giver's lifetime.
Planned gifts include (1) bequests where the entire amount of the gift can be used for a purpose and (2) endowment gifts which are invested to provide perpetual support into the future for church purposes.
